Pam has been entertaining the nation and making us laugh for almost five decades. The Bookseller magazine recently revealed that she is the best-selling poet since records began, after Ted Hughes.

Much of Pam’s work over the years has featured her passion for nature, as her appearance in Wells will show. She will draw on favourites from a selection of poems and stories, from across her long career, including Pam Ayres on Animals, which was the UK’s bestselling poetry book of 2021, and her latest book, Who Are You Calling Vermin?

Pam has appeared widely on TV and radio including having the rare distinction of sharing her Desert Island Discs not once, but twice.

“Who doesn’t feel warm, sentimental, and downright good when they think of Pam Ayres?    She’s a timeless talent and a glorious people’s poet.”

“If people are fond of me, I am delighted, and I hope I have given a lot of people a laugh, as that is a great experience – to laugh!”
