The judges are ready for our 2024 Competitions. Are you?

6 March 202411 March 2025

2023 saw another fiercely contested, but hugely popular, quartet of competitions! The standard in all four categories was high and our winners walked away from the Prize Giving with almost £5000 between them.

Our generous prizes are well deserved and much appreciated but the real attraction of the Wells Festival of Literature International Competitions is that those who enter can be confident that their submissions are read and approved by well-respected judges – amongst the finest in their fields.

This year’s judges will continue that pattern so that our entrants can always be confident that their efforts receive the recognition they deserve.

We also continue the tradition of honouring our local winners with special prizes. And, perhaps best of all, we invite everyone to a celebratory event during the Festival itself: a Poetry Reading and Prize Giving in Cedars Hall where everyone’s achievements are publicly recognised.

This event will take place at 10am on Friday 25 October.
