Author, artist and medievalist Amy Jeffs breathes wild new life into the legends of King Arthur in her latest book Arthur A New Life, illustrated by 30 of her own dramatic linocuts.

While the familiar Arthurian canon of courtly knights and chivalric romance derives mostly from Thomas Malory’s 15^th century Le Morte D’Arthur, Amy revives older, wilder stories.

A new Arthur appears in various guises, including as a warlord and a leader of the wild hunt, and she traces Arthurian connections to Glastonbury Abbey among other places.

Her previous book Storyland was A Sunday Times bestseller and book of the year at Waterstones.
