Prizes for Young Poets

7 July 20267 July 2026

This is the last call for entries to the Young Poets competition which will close on 31 July. Entrants must be aged between 16 and 22.

Extra time has been given this year to allow for summer exams, so there are just a few weeks left to polish up those entries. The other three categories in the internationally-popular competitions closed at the end of June.

Top prize for the Young Poet winner is £200, along with £150 and £100 for second third placed entrants, and all three will receive a year’s subscription to The Poetry Society.

This year’s judge is award-winning poet Julia Webb who will be at the poetry-reading and prize-giving ceremony for all four competition categories at Cedars Hall on Monday 19 October.
