Malaysian-born cook Ping Coombes offers a beautiful homage to rice in her book, simply named Rice, in which she offers recipes and ideas on how to use the grain, along with tips on the different ways to cook it perfectly.
Inspired by her mother’s cooking at her home in Ipoh, Malaysia, she draws inspiration from her heritage and delivers food with modern twists and local ingredients.
She won MasterChef in 2014 and again in 2022 when she won MasterChef Champion of Champions, becoming the first double MasterChef Champion. Now living in the UK, she regularly hosts supper clubs in Bath and across the country, as well as masterclasses at her Ping at Home Kitchen.
“For any lover of rice, this book must be in your repertoire. Why? Because not only is it everything you need to know about rice but it’s also packed with ideas of how to use it.”
