A Golden Success
Best-selling author Louisa Young continues her aunt Elizabeth Jane Howard’s much-loved Cazalet Chronicles in her new novel published this month (3 Sept) and already receiving rave reviews.
The Golden Hours continues three decades of the Cazalet family saga, now moved to the early 1960s, where a new generation of Cazalets is growing up in a society on the cusp of change.
Howard began writing the Chronicles in the 1990s, starting with The Light Years set in 1937, and then continued the stories through four generations of births, deaths, marriages and affairs in five novels.
Now a decade after her aunt’s death, Young has added a sixth novel to the quintet, with another two already promised. She is the author of several novels, including the award-winning trilogy My Dear I Wanted To Tell You, which her famous aunt called ‘a triumph’.
