Turning readers into writers…

29 October 202411 March 2025

Organising a successful Festival of Literature involves more than solely celebrating an impressive string of established writers and their work; it also means planning for the future.

And that includes studying a bumper haul of superb competition entrants, choosing the winners and awarding the generous cash prizes. And who knows? It might even involve discovering next year’s best-seller or identifying a speaker for the future.

Our shortlisting panels and judges have had a busy few weeks and our prize-winners. well-deserved all of them, have been celebrated and congratulated. The Poetry Reading and Prize Giving in Cedars Hall took place on Friday 25 October and was very well attended, providing a fitting tribute to the hard work and talent of some 1000 entrants of all ages and from all round the globe.

Clicking on the buttons below will take you to details of the 2024 Competition winners.

They might also take you to some of the speakers of tomorrow!
