Looking Ahead to a Silver Anniversary Festival

10 June 2017

England's CathedralsThe programme for the 2017 Silver Anniversary Festival is now complete and we are looking forward to a very special pre-Festival launch when we get off to a glittering start: at 7pm on Friday 29 September Simon Jenkins will be discussing the finest cathedrals in the country – in the finest of them all!

We have a huge range of inspiring and exciting speakers lined up and the brochure will be available early in July. But why not get ahead of the game by subscribing to our newsletter for a sneak preview? Better still, become a friend. That way you get a 10% discount on tickets plus priority booking – a full week before tickets are available to the public.

We are very grateful to our Friends and sponsors for their support which allows us to use a large proportion of the money we receive through ticket sales to help fund a variety of educational projects. Two recent initiatives amongst many more: this week sees the launch of Plays in the Playground. You can find out more by ‘sharing a coffee’ with its founder, Louise Lappin-Cook. And we are thrilled to announce the first Wells Festival of Literature Poet-in-Residence who will visit around 20+ schools soon after the Festival ends. He is ony Walsh, recently praised for his moving performance at the fundraising concert for the victims of the Manchester bombing.
