2019 Competitions: Closing Soon

As competition entries zoom in from all corners of the globe towards the smallest city in England, it’s time to warn potential competitors that the gate will shortly be closing…

All our 2019 competitions end at midnight on 30 June – so you still have some time to get creative. But please don’t wait too long; there are plenty of talented writers who have already made their bids for fame and recognition (not to mention one of our many generous cash prizes!)

A huge number of poems, short stories and books for children have already landed in Wells with entries from as far afield as Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, Malaysia; and plenty too from closer to home: Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, London, Scotland, Gloucestershire, Dorset; yes there has even been a bumper crop from Somerset! (Antarctica, where are you?)
They have come from men, women, girls, boys, the old, the young, the ‘not-saying’.
