A Homage To Rice
Rice will be at the heart of the chef slot this year with the appearance of Malaysian-born chef Ping Coombes whose new book is called, quite simply, Rice.
Her book is a homage to the grain, in which she offers advice and timeless recipes, along with tips on the different ways to cook rice perfectly and how to reheat it safely.
Recipes include rice dishes, sweet and savoury rice, and rice snacks, and there are whole chapters on fried rice and one-pot rice, pickles and condiments Ping, a triple MasterChef winner who hosts supper clubs and events in Bath and across the UK, was inspired by her mother’s cooking at their home in Ipoh, Malaysia. Now she will be bringing her ideas to inspire a Festival audience at 10.30am on Saturday 24 July.
