The Golden Hours is a new instalment in the popular Cazalet Chronicles, first started by Elizabeth Jane Howard, and now continued by her niece Louisa Young.
In this new story familiar faces will reappear, newcomers are introduced, and the legacy of the Cazalets will continue into the swinging sixties . . . as they prepare themselves for change, the England they knew and understood fades from view.
Louisa, a writer, songwriter and former journalist, is ‘a masterly storyteller’ according to The Washington Post.
Her new book is a 2026 Highlight Pick in BBC Culture and several leading UK newspapers and magazines.
She is also the author of 12 novels, including the award-winning My Dear I Wanted To Tell You trilogy, which her famous aunt called ‘a triumph’.
“Young possesses in abundance emotional conviction, pace and imaginative energy.”
