A Game Changer

1 October 202413 March 2025

Not long until the 2024 Festival kicks off but as we warm up for the starting line there has been some unexpected movement on the field and, in true championship style, we have a few last minute changes  in the line-up.

Charlie Taylor the well-known BBC Radio Somerset radio presenter, cricket commentator and podcaster will now be discussing his favourite subject with author David Horspool who happens to shares the same passion: sport!

David’s new book is a wonderful history of how sport, in all its varying forms, has influenced the most dramatic shifts in our society, how sport in fact made Britain.

You would be very welcome on the touchline listening in to what promises to be a first division exchange:
Thursday 24 October at 7.45pm.

There is also a change of player on Friday 25 October at 6.15pm when Festival Patron Adam Rutherford brings us a whole new insight into trees, family trees, family ties, family likenesses – plus a tiny bit of maths.

And if you have ever wondered how you can possibly survive politics and/ or politicians, you will find Rafael Behr has the perfect answer in his best-selling Politics – A Survivor’s Guide: How to Stay Engaged Without Getting Enraged.

Rafael will be in conversation with Jo Durrant on Monday 21 October at 7.45pm

Keep an eye on the website and our social pages for any further changes, and we look forward to seeing you at Cedars Hall at the end of the month.
