Festival Fun for Year 6
Helen Rutter, children’s author and comedian, will have brought laughter and learning to more than 1,000 local youngsters from local schools by the end of this year’s Festival.
At each of her four sessions, she entertained her young audiences with tales of how and why she had written her books, and introduced them to the magical art of mind reading.
Helen is the author of several books including her award-winning novel The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh and her new interactive book The Game Changers.
She left her happy audiences with the sensible instruction: “Don’t get it right, get it written.”
Proceeds from the Festival fund the annual Schools Event, and also the coaches that transport over 30 schools to and from Cedars Hall. Book sales are subsidised at £2 per copy and the youngsters eagerly queue to get their purchases signed by the author.
